Random fact: I enjoy playing video games. I admit it. I am not ashamed of it. There is something I am ashamed of, however. Glaringly, and now with apology, I have a confession to make. Terrible in its implications, I beg forgiveness from the video game gods.
They say that ignorance is bliss, and who am I to argue with the nameless few. Alas, in this case, I didn’t know what bliss was.
I have made a purchase. One I have considered for quite a while now. I have purchases a new headset, and the sound quality is… forgive the pun… unheard of for me before now. I am not in the habit of plugging products, but I just had to share this revelation, for there is no other word for it.

I decided to test this bad boy out first by playing the trailer for Marvel’s The Avengers (circa 2012):
And man, I was amazed at the quality! Just this trailer alone convinced me I need to get surround sound for my TV (especially once I upgrade my TV to 4K).
My next test was to play a round of Rainbow Six: Siege. Again, I was not disappointed. I was able to hear footsteps so clearly I now understand how people can easily pinpoint my location as well. The bass is amplified to a degree I hadn’t expected making this such a great intel tool. My next test will be Escape from Tarkov, a game I hate because I can’t locate enemy players and NPC’s. My hope is that this revelation will be a major improvement to my gaming here as well.
